The WWE United States Championship is the second-tier championship title in the WWE E-Fed federation on Saturday Night Smackdown; the second brand of the company. The first champion was Danny Basham who won a fatal fourway to become the inaugural champion. The current champion is Rob Van Dam in his second reign after defeating Kevin Nash on an episode of Smackdown live from the Lucha Underground Temple. Damaja and Montel Vontavious Porter hold the record for the most reigns with three reigns each. Drew McIntyre currently holds the shortest reign with 10 days. Goldust currently holds the record for longest reign (as an individual) with 230 days.
