King of the Ring (2015) is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE. It is scheduled to take place on April 26, 2015 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. It will be the first event under the King of the Ring chronology as well as the first Smackdown exclusive PPV since Invasion (2014).

King of the Ring will feature professional wrestling matches that involve wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on WWE's secondary television program, SmackDown. Wrestlers will portray faces (heroes) or heels (villains) as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
It was revealed by the new Co-General Manager of SmackDown Shane McMahon that the King of the Ring tournament will return for the PPV and that the winner of the tournament will not only become the new King of the Ring but will also become the new World Heavyweight Champion and the first champion since the title was vacated and later deactivated back in September.
